One Resourcing Ltd are extremely proud to continue supporting our client based at London Gatwick Airport, Gatwick Ground Services (GGS).

We are currently recruiting for a Airside Officer who is confident and ready for a very busy Autumn.

Position: Airside Officer

Salary:

£28,485.26 – £32,379.39 (plus £2,080 shift pay) per annum

Shifts:

4 on 4 off, two days and two nights 0500-1700/1700-0500.

Job Purpose

To lead the delivery of key on-the-day operational metrics including safety, operational performance and customer advocacy. You will ensure that daily operational impediments are overcome quickly and effectively, ensuring clear and concise communications with your customer counterparts. You will provide input into the continuous improvement of operational processes and policies through timely and accurate reporting of issues to the responsible line holders.

The purpose of this role is to plan, monitor and allocate staff for all GGS airside activities, ensuring the highest performance and safety standards are met within a safe work environment and in line with the Policies and Procedures of GGS.

Job Dimensions/Measures

Ability to work shifts – including night shifts

Must be able to hold a Full Airside Pass and ADP (Full UK Driving Licence Required)

Principal Accountabilities

  • Plan and allocate flights and tasks to staff on a daily basis
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment, whilst delivering an operation to the highest standards of safety, customer service, regularity and consistency
  • Ensure staff member injuries and incidents are reported in compliance with GGS’ reporting process
  • Lead by example to deliver a safe and operationally effective service to our airlines and their customers in line with the procedures and policies as laid out in GGS manuals
  • Responsible for driving performance to meet airline service level agreements and staff incentive programmes, as required
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and be able to adapt and respond to changing situations in a flexible, professional manner
  • Provide a key operational interface between customers and GGS’ operations teams
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate well, build strong relationships and rapport with people from all levels of GGS and customer businesses
  • Deputise for the SODM in the SODM’s absence, including acting as Bronze Command
  • Plan and monitor the day and following day’s work load and staffing levels, reacting to any issues that may occur
  • Ensure all GGS assets are accounted for and in a fully serviceable condition; these assets to be signed in/out by all allocated staff
  • Give a detailed shift report at the end of each shift to the SODM, report and produce operational documents to and for senior management
  • Ensure company uniform and grooming standards are being always adhered to
  • Assess all GGS procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure for continuous improvement
  • Monitor housekeeping to ensure all areas is kept clean and furniture is not damaged
  • Reporting of unserviceable GSE equipment into the TCR portal and monitoring of telematics
  • Auditing of customer aircraft operations as per customers’ GOM and SOPs
  • Perform any other duties as appropriate in support of the business activities of GGS

Essential Qualifications (Academic/vocational)

  • CRC compliant to enable airside pass
  • Full DVLA driving licence to enable airside driving permit
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
